These simply are the best S54 head studs we've found for the E46 M3 6 cylinder engines, and we highly recommend them in both the racing and forced induction arena. Kit includes everything pictured -- 14 head bolts, washers, bolts and assembly lubricant. The parts most prone to failure are those associated with the air intake system. Must be replaced any time the cylinder head is removed or when there are oil or coolant leaks coming from the head gasket. The cams have to come off anyway. Then remove the electrical connectors from the ignition coils.
Read through the entire procedure before beginning. No white smoke, but the coolant is low. Be sure to write down where the connection goes as well. You may need the help of a flat blade screwdriver to get it loose. The anode can be zinc or aluminium in a cast iron engine, and zinc but preferably magnesium in a partial or full aluminium engine. If needed, rotate the camshafts slightly to properly engage the tool. Pull the intake boot off of the throttle body and remove from vehicle. Never assume that just because your radiator is not leaking that it is in 100% working order. Before repairing a faulty head gasket, attempt to re-torque the cylinder head bolts.
